Bernardaud Marie Antoinette Flute chiller 6″W x 13.5″L
Used by earlier generations as an ice bucket, hence its earlier designation: rafraîchissoir. Today, it serves often as a centerpiece, filled with flowers.
Queen Marie-Antoinette’s service was delivered to Versailles on January 2, 1782 by the Royal Manufacture of Sevres.
The Queen appreciated its decoration of luxurious pearls and cornflowers encircled by bands of green and threads of gold.
