The wood is all varnished at the Capdeco factory in France as opposed to competitors which are unvarnished. Capdeco is using far superior stainless than competitors and has also developed a special ferrule (or connector) made from nickel plated brass that joins the wood with the stainless. The quality is almost identical to Alain Saint Joanis, except they are using forged stainless steel instead of stamped, hence the huge difference in price.
